Make the Most of the Months Ahead

In the middle of summer, many gardeners focus on harvesting tomatoes, courgettes and other seasonal crops. Yet late July and early August are some of the most important weeks in the gardening calendar.

This is the ideal time to start planning and planting for autumn and winter harvests.

In this practical workshop, you will learn how to make the most of your growing space and extend the harvest season well beyond summer.

What you will learn

  • What to sow in late summer for autumn and winter harvests

  • Which crops can overwinter in the garden

  • How to make the best use of empty garden beds

  • Succession planting techniques

  • Planning a productive garden through the colder months

  • How to extend the harvest season naturally

What we will do

  • Guided walk through the vegetable garden

  • Discussion of seasonal crops and planting schedules

  • Practical planning exercises

  • Time for questions and individual advice

You will leave with ideas and a simple plan for your own autumn and winter garden.
